Yves Eric Laliberté is a well-known decision maker, negotiator, and visionary, skilled at recruiting talented people who share his dedication and passion for excellence.

    Complete bio

In 2006, after one meeting with StreamTheWorld founders, he offered his services to structure and finance the business. Nine months later, the company’s board and new investors recruited him to lead the organization and execute its vision. Fast forward one year: StreamTheWorld has reached new heights and has a client list that includes the likes of CBS, Tribune, Journal Broadcast, Astral Media, Salambo, Corus, Multimedios and many other prestigious corporations from over 20 countries.

In 1996 Yves Eric Laliberté founded Cesart, an interactive agency which he led to great success despite the dot-com freefall. Cesart benefited from its leader’s energy and delivered steady—and profitable—growth that led to the acquisition in 2001 by Bell Canada, the country’s largest telecom group.

In business ventures as well as outside activities, Mr. Laliberté is recognized for his profound technological knowledge. In 1997 he cofounded Cescom, an early entry in the IP telephony field. As president and CEO, he was instrumental in attracting both private and institutional investors. Playing a dual role as CEO/CFO, he negotiated $30 million in financing. In 1999 Quebecor awarded him the first Pierre-Péladeau Bursary for his involvement in Cescom.

A tireless achiever driven by a keen sense of direction and desire for tangible results, Mr. Laliberté has spearheaded numerous Internet projects, including technological prospecting missions in more than a dozen countries on three continents. In 1996, supported by the Cesart team, he was involved in setting up one of the world’s first high-speed Internet services for Canadian cable distributor Cogeco. His company then repeated the feat in Portugal, becoming the first to offer this service through Cabovisão, the country's largest private cable operator.

Mr. Laliberté holds a bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières and a diploma from the École Polytechnique de Montréal. He has received various prizes and awards and is known not only as a visionary with the ability to bring ideas to fruition, but for his involvement with the academic world. In 1998 he received two prestigious Radisson Awards for Young Entrepreneur of the Year and New Company of the Year.
