StreamTheWorld in Buenos Aires
Angélica Potes, Senior Account Manager for Latina America at StreamTheWorld, visited Buenos Aires to present the company and its services. She also met with her local consultant, Christian Kardashian, to discuss with Prensario how their online solution could help broadcasters generate new income.
“StreamTheWorld is a Canadian company specializing in Internet-based audio and video streaming. Its clients are broadcasters or multimedia businesses active in the radio, TV, and periodical markets,'' explains Potes.
“Broadcasters developing an online presence must overcome challenges related to their broadcasting capacity, ability to offer a universal format, and desire to improve the ROI for online broadcasting, among other issues''.
“Our company specializes in developing turnkey solutions tailored to each client’s particular needs. Our know-how helps our clients stand out from the competition and improve their audience’s user experience''.
Major features include the ability to manage heavy loads, redirect traffic for optimal uptimes, clone streams to reach audiences using other transmission methods, send alerts when the server is down, produce geotargeted ad replacements, and use geoblocking.
“Our streaming solution makes it possible to capture and hold audience attention, keeping users active and loyal to the brand, which in turn creates new and additional marketing opportunities and reaches more people, boosting audience levels (listening time)''.
Present in 26 countries
“We have clients in 26 countries, with over 2,000 radio stations broadcasting online. Our roster includes major American networks such as CBS and Entercom, and top multimedia groups such as Prisa. We also work with some of Mexico’s biggest broadcasters, including Grupo Imagen, Grupo Multimedios, and Grupo Acir.
“Our service is very straightforward, as we simply take the broadcaster’s exit signal and, using our own encoders, take care of the rest by using our own preformatted players or developing new players based on client needs.
This innovative service helps broadcasters generate new online marketing revenue through sponsorship, the development of viral campaigns, new ad spots, and even e-commerce tools.
Success Story: Grupo Multimedios de México
As an example of the company’s success, Potes highlighted the solution developed for Grupo Multimedios de México, which teamed up with StreamTheWorld to create a player to enhance its user experience and boost its audience. The result? A 30% jump in audience within just three weeks of activating the player.
“For the past four years we have worked with Grupo Multimedio, providing streaming for its Milenio channel—Mexico’s leading online news channel—and its 36 radio stations and TV channels, including Multimedios and Toreón, says Potes.
“StreamTheWorld’s platform enables its clients to manage content and administer it according to user needs, e.g., by creating specific playlists or providing an interactive experience by making it possible to share links, vote, or view exclusive content''.
“Our latest innovations include a new streaming solution for smart phones such as the iPhone or BlackBerry. We will also be releasing a player for Android''.
“In a nutshell, we offer accessible, customizable streaming solutions for broadcasters that improve their ROI on web platforms. Our solutions are based on four core ideas: improving user experience, reaching a broader audience, generating higher income, and respecting distribution rights,” concludes Potes.
